Steven Moffat表示十分喜爱原著，所以他曾经在《神秘博士 Doctor Who》的「The Girl In The Fireplace」一集中采用了类此构念。而他亦指Audrey Niffenegger在后来的小说中，有个角色设定「看了每一集《神秘博士》」来作为回应。
