HBO将拍摄Steven Moffat负责的《时间旅行者的妻子 The Time Traveler's Wife》改编剧集版，据报该项目有包括Amazon在内的多家试图竞投。《时间旅行者的妻子》根据Audrey Niffenegger所著同名小说改编，过去曾被改编成Eric Bana及Rachel McAdams主演的电影版，剧中讲述Clare及Henry之间复杂﹑科幻的爱情故事，因为男主拥有穿梭时空的能力，但他却没法控制，故此两人虽然相爱却经常没法长久待在一起。
Steven Moffat表示十分喜爱原著，所以他曾经在《神秘博士 Doctor Who》的「The Girl In The Fireplace」一集中采用了类此构念。而他亦指Audrey Niffenegger在后来的小说中，有个角色设定「看了每一集《神秘博士》」来作为回应。
